Lorenzo Bandini won the 1967 Daytona in another Ferrari 330P4

Lorenzo Bandini and Chris Amon drove a 4-liter Ferrari 330P4 Spyder to first place at the ’67 Daytona 24 beating a large contingent of 7-liter Ford Mk IIs and GT40s. In this photo he is trying out the third place P4 that was entered by NART. Most of the Fords failed to finish due to faulty transmissions. Because they beat the much favored Fords this win is considered by some the racing comeback of 1967. Ferrari didn’t take the cars to Sebring in 1967 because they feared that their cars would be impounded by the courts because of a lawsuit over the death of four spectators at Sebring in 1966.
