In the countryside of Niota, Illinois, about a block from my girlfriend’s parent’s farm, there’s a small, lonely wooded area that used to be a homestead. The house, barn, and sheds are all collapsed in on themselves, and the area is littered with old, abandoned cars – most of which are in still good enough condition to be restored, or reborn as hot rods.
Amongst the old, rusting, and forgotten automobiles is this powder-blue 1956 Plymouth Savoy that is literally "wrapped around a tree". The motor was removed a long time ago, allowing enough room for a seed to take root, and an old sturdy tree to flourish where Detroit iron once powered the abandoned Savoy decades ago.
Taken in Niota, Illinois on March 25th, 2009 with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28.
