R.I.P. Saab

R.I.P. Saab

Some rather sad news today that production of Saab’s will be discontinued – jalopnik.com/5429575/saab-officially-borked?skyline=true&…

They were once known as cars of real character and were (quite frankly) odd… In the early days they had strange styling and those unusual two-stroke engines – where you had to mix oil and gas to fuel up the gas tank, but were demons in the rally racing world… This 1976 Saab 96 was one of the last of the old-style cars that date back to the "good-old-days" of Saab… Alas the history of Saab is rich and unusual but they have become just another car company with very little character, soon to fade into the sands of time…

Interesting… I just read on Jalopnik that Sixten Sason, the Swedish engineer responsible for most of Saab’s postwar output right up to the Saab 99, also designed the first Hasselblad camera, cool…

Sorry folks, this is one of the best Saab photos I have, my apologies 🙂
