The auto industry can be feast or famine. When the line is moving–cars will be headed out loaded with automobiles. When the Chrysler plant was shut down for retooling, the autoracks would be stored on every available track. Several autoracks sit here on the spur tracks to Central Grain just off Stone Quarry Road on the west side of Belvidere, IL. These C&NW locos just dropped off some cars and are now heading back to Proviso Yard with just the waycar–no autoracks loaded with automobiles on this day from the summer of 1983.
