The Cooper Car Corporation was established in 1946 by Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper. Collectively with John’s boyhood buddy, Eric Brandon, they started by developing racing cars in Charles’ compact garage in Surbiton, Surrey, United Kingdom in 1946. Via the 1950s and early nineteen sixties, they reached car racing’s highest concentrations as their rear-engined, solitary-seat cars altered the facial area of Formula 1 and the Indianapolis five hundred, and their Mini Cooper dominated Rally racing. Many thanks in part to Cooper’s legacy, Britain stays the home of a flourishing racing marketplace, and the Cooper name lives on in the Cooper variations of the Mini manufacturing cars that are however designed in England but are now owned and promoted by BMW.
